A Map of Hunsford

6th August 2018 by Mark 2 Comments

Thought you might enjoy the rough map of Hunsford I used when writing The Darcy Ring and The Lovesick Maid. (Not to scale!)

You can see the parsonage bottom right, cunningly placed to allow our upstanding rector, Mr Collins, to monitor the Rosings traffic.

Some of the locations have yet to play a part in a book, but the Charlotte Collins Mysteries continue…

The map’s inspired by the village of Lacock in Wiltshire, which eagle-eyed readers will know as a setting for 1995’s Pride and Prejudice TV series and the Harry Potter movies, as well as other productions.

That’s not why I looked at Lacock, specifically – I actually grew up not too far away so know it quite well.

I understand that there is a Village of Rosings and a Town of Hunsford. How does that work?

Hi Jessica. The map doesn’t make it clear but Rosings is a large estate with a house while Hunsford is the village/town.
