Mr Bennet’s (almost) back

November 27th sees the release of Port and Proposals, my new novel featuring Mr Bennet.

It seems life won’t let our poor father-of-five remain in his beloved library. This time out, he finds himself addressing the troubles of his middle daughter, Mary: a challenging prospect made more difficult by constant reminders of a past he cannot forget (however much he’d like to).

All this happens against the backdrop of Volumes II and III of Pride and Prejudice itself, beginning with Elizabeth Bennet’s departure to Hunsford.

Mr Bennet’s narration offers the same wit, wisdom, and commentary you might know from Cake and Courtship. Perhaps he’s a little more serious than in his first outing. After all, he has that express from Brighton to deal with…
