I’m working on a Regency novel involving the Austen character Mr Bennet – a tale of love, regret, and nerve tonics. Also a work of “fictional non-fiction” from the Austen era. Both are set for publication in late-2017: more details nearer the time!
Humour and fiction is my calling, sports writing my hobby, and travel writing the consequence of falling in love.
With my wife, which is why I live in Vienna. And with the city itself, which is why I publish Visiting Vienna.
It’s a declaration of love, but the best love is open and honest, funny and imperfect. And so it is with Visiting Vienna – a website travel guide and advice hub for visitors…written with no agenda and no marketing remit from the Viennese authorities.
You should visit.
Sport as hobby or, in my case, sports writing as hobby.
I’m interested in stories and emotions. And sports, more specifically football, is a swirling mass of both.
My partner in
crime sport is Alex, a man wiser than the wisest of the wise. Probable winner of the Mr. Wise competition, except he’d be too wise to waste time attending.
Together we write “Football is all about…“, which peels away the veneer of the sport to reveal the truth and fiction behind the beautiful game.
Sometimes we’re serious. Sometimes we’re not. Sometimes we’re both – at the same time. But everywhere there is a little seed of truth, a wry smile and a love of 22 players kicking a leather ball around for 90 minutes.
